EES founder Mark Thomson has been actively involved in ecologically sustainable design and development for more than 30 years. First as an Architect, working in Brisbane involved in residential, commercial interior design, property development, government projects and commercial office projects. From 2000 onwards he developed eco consulting business roles, initially working with green rating tools and culminating in the role of Corporate Sustainability Principal of the Schiavello Group until 2013. Since that time his involvement in organisations such as the Green Building Council of Australia, the Banksia Foundation, The Australian Green Development Forum and Global Greentag has maintained his industry focus, to keep track of the latest and most useful industry trends, which we share with EES Collaborative members in frequent website updates.
After managing hundreds of projects, presenting to thousands of industry personnel and lecturing at more than 10 universities, Mark has co-authored books and developed green rating tools and national green guidelines to the design and construction industry in Australia.
